The Azuma Bag is a quick sewing project suitable for beginners.

The triangle shape and the knot top handle make it a unique choice for an everyday bag. You can keep the bag fairly simple in design, or add embellishments like hand embroidery or applique to express your personal style.

MATERIALS

You can use just about any woven (non-stretch) fabric for this project. Suggested fabrics: quilting cotton, linen, denim, cotton/polyester blends. Consider re-using textiles you already for this project, such as an old pillowcase or tablecloth. The top piece could be in a contrasting fabric.
