Japanese Knot Bag Patterns

The Knot Bag is a quick and easy sew. Beginners can choose a beautiful fabric to create a unique, small bag as a statement piece. Can be made with or without a lining.

Knot bag has handles that slip over each other to form a unique knot handle.

Use a statement fabric to create a one of a kind, but easy to sew bag.

If you would like one side shorter, you can cut one handle shorter (see the pattern).

Bag can be sewn with or without a lining.

MATERIALS

1/2 yard/45 cm each of printed cotton outer and a solid lining fabric

For this project, choose a heavier decorative fabric like a brocade or heavier printed cotton. Look in the home decor section of your fabric store. or you could re-purpose a tablecloth. Project also has an optional lining, which should be a lightweight fabric.

Tip: If there is an upholster near you, sometimes they get rid of fabric samples, and there might be enough to use here!

• Pattern available in 3 print sizes: A4, Letter size 8.5″ x 11″ and A0 size.
• Ensure you print your PDF patterns at actual size (100%scale) and also select “borderless printing” so the print fills out a whole page without a margin.
